NITDA proposes framework for attractive public service

Malam Kashifu Inuwa, Director-General of NITDA was quoted as saying this in a statement issued on Friday by Mrs. Hadiza Umar, Director, Corporate Affairs and External Relations, NITDA, Abuja.
Inuwa was said to have introduced the framework at the maiden edition of the International Civil Service Conference organized by the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation(OHCSF).
He said the framework would curb brain drain affecting Nigeria’s public sector and strengthen ICT capacity in the service, thereby retaining skilled professionals.
Initiated in collaboration with the OHCSF, he also said it would tackle the challenge of stagnant roles and underutilisation of digital talent within government institutions.
“Highly skilled professionals are often stuck in roles that don’t reflect their expertise, while their counterparts in the private sector benefit from clear advancement paths and continuous training.
“The framework will provide structured career pathways and access to globally recognise certifications, enabling civil servants to grow professionally while contributing meaningfully to Nigeria’s digital transformation,” he said.
