In a recent interview with Marketplace Africa, Wale Ajisebutu, the CEO of 21st Century Technologies, discussed his company’s commitment to building digital infrastructure in Nigeria and its partnership with tech giants to drive economic growth in the region.

Telescope.ng gathered that with a focus on the exponential growth of data consumption and generation, Ajisebutu emphasized the importance of playing a pivotal role in the fourth industrial revolution in Nigeria.

He shared how his venture into the telecommunications industry was sparked by a conversation with a wealthy individual who encouraged him to leverage technology to solve Nigeria’s challenges 25 years ago.

21st Century Technologies, as an infrastructure company serving Nigeria’s top 1000 firms, aims to address critical industry issues while fostering a skilled and motivated workforce.

Ajisebutu believes that poverty in Nigeria is now defined by access to technology rather than geography. Therefore, their mission is to make technology readily available to all Nigerians, which includes providing training to uplift people from poverty.

According to Ajisebutu, the Nigerian business landscape offers ample opportunities for making a difference. He stated that challenges in Nigeria can be overcome by taking the right initiatives, such as generating power and investing in necessary facilities. He firmly believes that doing the right thing in Nigeria can lead to limitless success.

As a technology-focused company, 21st Century Technologies has made significant investments in various areas, including 5G deployment and supporting GSM operators in Nigeria. Their ongoing efforts involve modernizing their platform to meet customer demands.

The company recently established an academy with the ambitious goal of training ten million Africans over the next decade. Partnering with institutions like Schneider University and Oracle University, they aim to create a comprehensive ecosystem that supports this vision.

Looking ahead, 21st Century Technologies plans to continue building infrastructure and expand their reach. Ajisebutu disclosed their intention to launch a satellite to ensure technology access for as many Africans as possible.

Ajisebutu further expressed his desire to see 21st Century Technologies continue to solve industry problems and provide services for the next hundred years. The company aspires to evolve and tackle larger challenges in the future.
