Tinubu Assures Nigerians: I will not let you down

The President-elect, Bola Tinubu, on Thursday, May in Abuja, expressed his determination not to disappoint President Muhammadu Buhari and the millions of Nigerians who have entrusted him with their trust.
Telescope.ng reports that while accepting the National Honour of Grand Commander of the Federal Republic at the State House Banquet Hall, Tinubu acknowledged the significance of the honor and the immense responsibility that lies ahead.
“I fully understand the magnitude of the honor bestowed upon me today and the task that awaits. Nigerians deserve nothing less,” Tinubu declared in his acceptance speech.
He reassured President Buhari that he would not let him down, acknowledging the path that the President has set and expressing his commitment to following it.
With this conferment, Tinubu becomes the 16th person to receive the GCFR Honour. Previous recipients of this prestigious award include notable figures such as Nnamdi Azikiwe, Obafemi Awolowo, Shehu Shagari, Olusegun Obasanjo, and Goodluck Jonathan, among others.
The list also includes international figures like Queen Elizabeth II of Britain, Nelson Mandela of South Africa, and the former leader of Libya, Muammar Gaddafi.
President Buhari also conferred the honor of Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger on the Vice President-elect, Kashim Shettima.
As per Executive Order 14, which mandates the transition council to issue handover notes, the President presented three key transition documents to Tinubu, including proposed policy directions for the incoming administration.
