Lagos lawmakers-elect endorse Obasa for speaker 10th Assembly


In a unanimous show of support, thirty-nine lawmakers-elect of the Lagos State House of Assembly have thrown their weight behind Speaker Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa for the leadership of the upcoming 10th Assembly, according to Hon. Adewale Temitope, a member of the House and Chairman of the House Committee on Transportation.
The decision to endorse Speaker Obasa stemmed from a collective resolution reached by the lawmakers-elect, who expressed their desire for the Speaker to continue the commendable work he initiated in 2015 and has diligently sustained throughout the ninth Assembly.
Speaking during an interview session with journalists in Lagos on Thursday, Hon. Adewale hailed the fortunate presence of Speaker Obasa in Lagos State, emphasizing that his leadership had brought about a transformative shift in legislative practices throughout Nigeria.
He proudly proclaimed, “We now have a Lagos Assembly that serves as a beacon of inspiration for other states seeking guidance. Our bills have been studied by the National Assembly, and our laws have been instrumental in shaping our state in favor of the people.”

“If Lagos State is to sustain the benefits of true governance,” Hon. Adewale asserted, “we cannot afford to be without Speaker Obasa.
