Buhari reveals what will happens under Tinubu’s leadership
President Muhammadu Buhari expressed his belief in Nigeria’s prosperous future under the leadership of Bola Tinubu.
Telescope.ng reports while speaking at the conferment of national awards on the President-elect and Vice President-elect, Kashim Shettima, Buhari praised Tinubu’s leadership qualities, political acumen, and dedication to serving the nation.
The event took place at the State House Conference Centre in Abuja on Thursday.
Buhari commended the Nigerian people for recognizing Tinubu as the best candidate for the elections and making a wise choice.
He acknowledged Tinubu’s transformative leadership during his tenure as the governor of Lagos from 1999 to 2007, emphasizing his commitment to the welfare of the Nigerian people.
Buhari highlighted Tinubu’s previous display of qualities that promote national unity. However, he reminded Tinubu and Shettima of the challenges ahead and urged them to lead with compassion, wisdom, and transparency when they assume office the following Monday.
He emphasized that these qualities are crucial for laying the foundations of national progress and development.
During the ceremony, Buhari conferred the national honours of GCFR on Bola Tinubu and GCON on Kashim Shettima.
As the President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Buhari handed over the transition document to them.
The document included briefing notes on nine priority areas, a compendium summarizing the administration’s priority programs and projects, and a Policy Status update.
Symbolically, Buhari passed the baton of service to Tinubu, signifying the continuity of government. This event marked the beginning of a series of activities leading up to the May 29 inauguration.
