Headies Mic Check Season Two: Airtel-sponsored competition elevates 20 talents to battle for grand prizes

In a vibrant showcase of Nigeria’s musical talent, the Headies Mic Check competition has transitioned from rigorous auditions to the live show stage.

Telescope.ng reports that with over 2000 entrants vying for the spotlight, the top 20 finalists are now gearing up for an epic battle to claim the coveted grand prize of a brand new car and a cash reward of five million naira.

Aimed at unearthing the country’s hidden musical gems, the Mic Check talent hunt serves as a thrilling precursor to the highly anticipated 16th Headies Award, slated for September 3, 2023, in Atlanta, USA.

The auditions witnessed an influx of aspiring musical sensations from all corners of Nigeria, converging on Lagos to showcase their vocal prowess.

Each contestant was tasked with performing songs that best complemented the unique texture of their voices, whether self-composed or from their favourite artists’ repertoire.
