Airtel employees inspire students to dream big by facilitating digital education

Under its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, the Employee Volunteer Scheme Initiative, Airtel Nigeria’s employees made a meaningful impact at Kuramo College, a government secondary school in Lagos.
The dedicated team generously donated state-of-the-art routers, each equipped with 100GB of data and a two-month roll-over access fee, to enhance the students’ digital connectivity.
Telescope.ng reported that the Airtel Information and Technology team generously provided the connection devices with a mission to empower students through improved digital access.
Seun Solanke, the director of Information and Technology, spoke at the event, expressing Airtel’s commitment to empowering young minds by providing them with the means to explore a world of knowledge and opportunities.
Solanke stated: “Airtel’s goal is no longer limited to being a smartphone network. We aim to give people a reason to imagine and unleash their potential through technology and connectivity. The world is evolving rapidly, and young Nigerians now have access to limitless possibilities. They can create their own job titles and descriptions, which is evident in the rise of professions such as YouTubers and social media influencers.”
He concluded by encouraging the students to utilize the connectivity provided to support their future aspirations with the right information and resources, ensuring a brighter future for themselves.
Airtel Nigeria’s Employee Volunteer Scheme aligns with the company’s commitment to bridging the digital divide in the country and enabling students to leverage the power of the internet.
By distributing routers with data plans, Airtel ensures that students, regardless of their socio-economic background, have uninterrupted access to educational resources, research materials, and online learning platforms.
This initiative strives to create equal opportunities for all students and empower them to thrive in a digital world.
