Oyebamiji Expresses Confidence Ahead of 2026 Osun Governorship Election
APC governorship candidate Bola Oyebamiji has expressed confidence of victory ahead of the August 8, 2026 Osun State governorship election, describing prayers and divine guidance as central to his political journey. Speaking at an annual prayer programme in Ikire, Oyebamiji said he remains optimistic about defeating incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke and other contenders, as party leaders and religious clerics offered prayers and endorsements in support of his ambition.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the August 2026 Osun State governorship election, Bola Oyebamiji, has expressed strong confidence that he will emerge victorious at the polls.
Osun State is scheduled to elect a new governor on August 8, 2026. Oyebamiji will contest against the incumbent governor, Ademola Adeleke, who is seeking re-election, as well as Dr. Najeem Salaam of the Action Democratic Congress (ADC), among other contenders.
Speaking on Saturday in his hometown of Ikire during the annual prayer programme organised by the Ansarud-deen Society of Nigeria, Ikire Branch, Oyebamiji underscored the importance of prayers as the election approaches. He described the timing of the prayer session as symbolic, given its closeness to the governorship poll.
According to him, faith and divine guidance would play a central role in the political journey ahead. Oyebamiji expressed optimism about his chances, insisting that he is confident of winning the election by the grace of God.
The Chief Imam of Ansarud-deen, Ikire Branch, Alhaji Badmus Adekunle, also spoke at the event, praising Oyebamiji’s leadership qualities. He said the APC’s endorsement of Oyebamiji reflected the broad acceptance the candidate enjoys among party stakeholders and assured continued prayers for his success.
Also addressing the gathering, which included Islamic clerics, members of the Ansarud-deen Society and APC supporters from across Osun State, Oyebamiji’s wife, Dr. Sekinah Bola-Oyebamiji, said the annual prayer programme had been sustained for over a decade.
She noted that attendance at the event had grown significantly, with more than 6,000 people catered for this year, compared to about 3,000 the previous year. According to her, the family remains committed to community welfare and expanding support for women and children across the state.
She added that such goals could best be achieved if Oyebamiji is elected governor, expressing appreciation for the prayers and support received as the campaign journey continues.
