Ill health: Governor Akeredolu will return home soon, commissioner declares
Ondo state governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, would be returning home soon from his medical vacation, according to a statement released by the Ondo state commissioner for information and orientation, Bamidele Ademola-Olateju, on Thursday, July 6.
Telescope.ng reports that the commissioner mentioned that the governor is in good spirits and will come back home once he is discharged by his doctors.
The statement expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu, APC leaders, other state governors, and well-meaning indigenes of Ondo state for their support and prayers for the governor’s recovery.
The governor himself expressed his appreciation for the prayers and messages of goodwill, stating that they have been uplifting and motivating him to continue serving the people of Ondo state.
He also thanked President Tinubu, party leaders, his fellow governors, and members of the State House of Assembly for their support.
Akeredolu is looking forward to rejoining the people of the state as soon as his doctors deem it appropriate.
It should be noted that before his medical trip, Akeredolu had handed over the reins of government to his deputy, Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who is currently serving as the acting governor of Ondo state.
