Metuh and I had a heart-to-heart discussion with Tinubu, Former SGF Anyim declares
Former Senate president, Anyim Pius Anyim, has shared details about his meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja on Wednesday, July 5.
Telescope.ng gathered that Anyim, who served as Secretary to the Government of the Federation under ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, expressed his honour to pay courtesy to the president and congratulate him on his successful inauguration as the 16th President of Nigeria.
He also commended Tinubu for his bold actions so far, adding that they had extensive heart-to-heart discussions during the meeting, primarily centred on congratulating the president.
Olisa Metuh, former national publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who accompanied Anyim, also praised Tinubu for his good start in policy-making and emphasized the importance of participatory governance and democracy.
Metuh expressed confidence in the Tinubu administration’s ability to achieve national cohesion and bring the country together after suffering significant challenges in the past eight years.
Both Anyim and Metuh had previously been critical of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the party under which Tinubu won the presidency in 2015.
However, Anyim collaborated with the APC in Ebonyi during the gubernatorial election in March 2023, supporting the victory of Governor Francis Nwifuru.
Metuh, on the other hand, resigned from the PDP and partisan politics in October 2022, citing his recent medical trip abroad and the corruption charges he faced under the previous administration.
