AFCON 2023: Tinubu to travel Abijan for Eagles/Côte d’Ivoire clash

President Bola Tinubu will travel to Abidjan to witness the Africa Cup of Nations 2023 final between the Super Eagles and the host team, Côte d’Ivoire, on Sunday, February 11.
Telescope.ng reports this announcement was made by Patrice Motsepe, the President of CAF, during a media conference held in Abidjan on Friday.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria advanced to the final of the ongoing AFCON after defeating South Africa 4-2 in a penalty shootout.
On Sunday, Nigeria will clash with hosts Cote d’Ivoire in the 2023 AFCON final at the Alassanne Ouattara Stadium, Ebimpe Abidjan.
The match would kick off at 9pm Nigeria time.
CAF president affirmed that he will have a discussion with the President of Nigeria on an African country to bid hosting the FIFA World Cup again after South Africa.
He said: “Nigeria must put in a bid. The Nigerian President (Bola Tinubu) is coming to watch the final on Sunday. I will have a conversation with him about it.”
