President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to address the nation today, Monday, July 31, at 7 pm, as announced by his presidential spokesman, Dele Alake.

Telescope.ng reports that the broadcast will be transmitted through the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority and Radio Nigeria, providing an opportunity for Nigerians across the country to listen to the president’s message.

While the specific content of the address remains undisclosed, the timing of the broadcast coincides with widespread concerns among the masses regarding the current hardship resulting from the removal of fuel subsidy and the subsequent increase in petrol prices.

President Tinubu has been appealing for calm, reassuring the nation that his administration is diligently working towards ensuring a more comfortable life for all citizens. He likened the current situation to labor room pain, where the pains experienced give birth to eventual gains.

The broadcast occurs on the eve of a nationwide protest by organized labor and amidst the ongoing strike by the Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD).

The doctors have rejected the 25% increment in basic salary announced by the federal government and are demanding the full restoration of the Consolidated Medical Salary Structure to its original value as of 2009.
