NASS election: APC crisis reportedly resolved as Tinubu meets Adamu, Omisore

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has successfully resolved the crisis within the All Progressives Congress (APC) regarding the principal officers of the ruling party in the National Assembly.
Telescope.ng that the development was gathered from reliable sources last night.
The crisis emerged on Tuesday when the National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, rejected the principal officers announced by Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas.
Akpabio and Abbas had announced the principal officers, including the majority leaders, chief whips, and their deputies during the plenary.
However, shortly after the announcement, Adamu expressed that the list did not come from the party, despite the endorsement of the new officers by the governors of the party through the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF).
During a meeting with the PGF, led by Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, Adamu stated his lack of awareness of the development, creating tension within the ruling party.
In response to the situation, President Tinubu called for a meeting with Adamu and the party secretary, Dr Iyiola Omisore, at the State House in Abuja.
The issue was discussed during the meeting, but no official statement was released by the presidency. Sources indicated that the president was disappointed by the development.
Another source told Daily Trust that during the meeting, the president endorsed the actions of the Senate President and the Speaker regarding the principal officers.
When contacted, the national chairman confirmed that the matter had been resolved.
He stated: “We have met the president, and the issues have been resolved. It’s a family affair, and we had some misunderstandings. However, we have been able to resolve our differences. Those who desire to see the conflict continue should please stop. We now have a complete understanding. We met with the president, the leader of our great party, and we are satisfied with the discussion. As far as we are concerned, the issues have been resolved.”
