Breaking: Obasa makes history, reelected speaker for 3rd time

Mudashiru Obasa, representing APC-Agege I, has been unanimously re-elected as the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly for the third consecutive time.
Telescope.ng reports that the re-election of Obasa took place following the proclamation of the Lagos 10th Assembly by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Deputy Governor Dr Obafemi Hamzat, and other high-ranking government officials in the House chamber.
In addition to Obasa’s re-election, Mojisola Meranda was elected as the Deputy Speaker of the 10th Assembly.
As the most experienced member of the House, Obasa was nominated by Temitope Adewale, who represents Ifako-Ijaiye Constituency. The nomination was seconded by Sylvester Ogunkelu, a member representing Epe II Constituency.
Furthermore, Noheem Adams, the Deputy Majority Leader in the Ninth Assembly, was elected as the new Majority Leader. Adedamola Kasunmu, representing Ikeja Constituency II, assumed the position of Deputy Majority Leader.
Mojeed Fatai, representing Ibeju Lekki I Constituency, was elected as the Chief Whip, while David Setonji, representing Badagry II Constituency, was elected as the Deputy Chief Whip.
