Breaking: Crisis rocks PDP as two senators resign from party two days after Tinubu’s inauguration
Two Senators, Mathew Urhogide and Ayo Akinyelure, have officially tendered their resignations from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Telescope.ng reports that the announcements of their resignations were made through separate letters, which were addressed to the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, and read during the plenary session on Wednesday.
Senator Mathew Urhogide represents the Edo South Senatorial District in the Senate, while Senator Ayo Akinyelure represents the Ondo Central Senatorial District.
In his letter, Senator Urhogide cited the PDP’s inability to resolve internal power struggles as the reason behind his decision to resign.
