Fact emerges as photo of Peter Obi visiting Tinubu alongside Dangote goes viral

The claim in a social media post that the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, was standing beside the president-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu standing beside Bola Tinubu, president-elect in a photograph has been fact-checked and found to be false.
Telescope.ng gathered that on Saturday, April 29, a Twitter user, @Revsesan1, posted the viral photo, indicating that the LP presidential candidate visited the president-elect to begin reconciliation.
Obi came third in a presidential election conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on February 25, 2023.
He tweeted: “OBI VISITED TINUBU*
“The Labor Party Presidential candidate H.E Peter Obi visited President-Elect Tinubu. The Reconciliation & Nation Building has started. Obidients accept the will of God & join us in building a better & greater Nigeria. Let us all make Nigeria safe and.”
In the viral photo, Obi is flanked by Babajide Sanwo-Olu, governor of Lagos, to the right, while Tinubu is flanked by Aliko Dangote, chief executive officer of the Dangote Group, and the speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, to the left.
To verify the claim, Telescope.ng used Google reverse image search for the photo and it was discovered that the picture was earlier posted on Friday, April 28, by another Twitter user,@donortez.
“After Jumat…Meeting with zaddy from left.. Small Srulere Zaddy BIGGER ZADDY ZADDY OF ZADDIES. ZAD LAGOS ZADDY,’’ the tweet read.
A further keyword investigation showed that the original photograph was taken when the African richest man, Dangote and Femi Otedola, a billionaire businessman, visited Tinubu in Abuja on March 3.
Is it true Peter Obi visited Tinubu?
Verifying the claim, it was gathered that the photo showing Obi and Tinubu alongside other government stakeholders is photoshopped.
