Breaking: Two reportedly killed as train crashes into Lagos staff bus

A Lagos State Government staff bus with registration no 04A- 48LA was on Wednesday morning crushed by a moving train at PWD, Ikeja area of Lagos.
Telescope.ng gathered that the Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, Adebayo Taofiq, confirmed the accident in a statement.
“The accident recorded many casualties as the staff bus is fully loaded with govt staff going to the office this morning,” the statement added.
According to New Telegraph, the South West Director of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mr Ibrahim Farinloye in a statement issued on Thursday said eight adult female staff of the State Government died and d several were injured.
According to him, the staff bus was trying to cross the PWD/Sogunle rail crossing while the train coming into Lagos from Abeokuta trapped the bus on its rail.
Those who sustained injuries have been evacuated to the hospital, while operations are ongoing at the scene.
Meanwhile, NEMA, Nigerian Police Force, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Civil Defence and Nigeria Railway Corporation team are presently on the ground at the scene of the incident.
