Abiodun said the walk and support attests to the fact that Tinubu remained the people’s choice. He was confident Tinubu’s election was a done deal.

“This massive crowd is a sign to scare any opposition. The walk was planned just yesterday and it is intimidating. It is a show of love that you support Tinubu and Abiodun’s election victory in 2023.

“We are still going to hold a rally at the stadium and by February we cast our votes for all APC candidates.”

Abiodun, however, appealed to those yet to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to do so before the election.

Chairman of the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) Alhaji Titilayo Akibu said the walk was significant to them as it shows that Tinubu remains the choice of Ogun people in 2023. He also restated the union’s support for Abiodun’s re-election, saying the state had witnessed economic transformation in the last 42 months under Abiodun.

10,000 akoni obirin walk in Osun

Wife of the Osun State Governor Kafayat Oyetola yesterday led over 10,000 akoni obirin (brave women) on a march for the Tinubu/Shettima ticket.

She also vowed that the group will not allow over-voting in the 2023 election.

The march started at the Government House in Okefia, through Alekuwodo, Ola-Iya, Odi-Olowo, Isale Aro, Station road, Old Garage, before terminating at the Nelson Mandela Freedom Park.

Mrs. Oyetola said: “This movement of Akoni Obinrin (Brave women) is to deliver victory for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. We are targeting 1 million votes for Tinubu/Shettima in 2023. We have seen what he has done within and outside the country, most especially when he was the governor of Lagos State, he is a man who accommodates everybody without tribal sentiment. With the good job he did in Lagos, we believe he will replicate it in the entire country.

“From the experience of over-voting we had in the governorship election, we will ensure we monitor the 2023 process very well; we will cast our votes and stay back to prevent rigging of any kind like it happened few months ago. We are ready to monitor the Bimodal Voters Accreditation System (BVAS) and we will do all it takes to prevent a pre-loaded BVAS. We are ready to monitor our votes.”
