There was a dramatic twist on Thursday, May 19, to the presidential contest of the All Progressives Congress (APC) coming on May 29 and May 30.
Telescope.ng reports that Bashir Ahmad, a personal assistant on new media to President Muhammadu Buhari, who had identified with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo’s presidential ambition, may have dumped him for the national leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
In a message posted on his verified Facebook page, Ahmad said he and other chieftains of the party in Kano were waiting to receive Tinubu in furtherance of his consultation to get delegates ahead of the primary.
Ahmad’s statement, which was written in Hausa language was translated thus: “With our APC leader in Albasu local government area, Hon. Adamu Abdu Panda in preparation for the arrival of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Kano state.”
