The presidential ambition of the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu got a major boost on Monday, May 16, as the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, endorsed the former governor of Lagos state.
Telescope.ng reports that the Emir, who spoke when he hosted members of the South West Agenda for Asiwaju 2023 at his palace in Ilorin, said the APC leader “deserves to be the next Nigerian president.”
According to Daily Trust, the Emir’s endorsement for Tinubu comes at a time that an indigene of the state and former Senate president Bukola Saraki, who is a traditional title holder, is also seeking the seat.
According to the monarch, Tinubu has traversed the country and impacted many Nigerians positively.
Sulu-Gambari then organised a special prayer for Tinubu and promised to continue to pray for his emergence both privately and publicly.
Earlier, the national chairman of the South West Agenda for Asiwaju 2023, Senator Dayo Adeyeye told the Emir that they were in the state to inaugurate the North Central for Asiwaju 2023 to propagate and promote the emergence of Tinubu as Nigeria’s next president.
He disclosed that the group has visited over 300 traditional rulers across the country.
Senator Adeyeye said Tinubu laid the foundation for a new Lagos with strong economic base and added that such a person deserves to be Nigeria’s next president.
