TikTok Star Peller Hospitalised After Live-Streamed Car Crash on Lekki-Epe Expressway
Findings by The Telescope indicate that Lagos-based TikTok personality and livestreamer, Hamzat Habeeb, popularly known as Peller, has been hospitalised following a deliberate car crash that occurred during a live broadcast on the Lekki-Epe Expressway.
The incident happened on Sunday while the influencer was livestreaming a session titled “RIP Peller.” At the time, he was alone in a recently acquired Mercedes-Benz and appeared visibly distressed throughout the broadcast.
During the livestream, Peller was seen speaking emotionally on a phone call, believed to be with his girlfriend, Jarvis, amid growing speculation about a possible breakup. At several points, he made statements suggesting fear, emotional instability and an intention to harm himself.
Viewers of the livestream reported hearing him declare that he was afraid, moments before he drove off at speed. Shortly after, the broadcast showed his vehicle crashing into a stone barrier, causing extensive damage to the car.
Separate video clips that later surfaced online captured bystanders rushing to assist him at the crash scene. He was subsequently conveyed to a hospital for medical attention.
As of the time of filing this report, the extent of his injuries has not been officially confirmed. However, images circulating on social media show severe damage to the front section of the Mercedes-Benz, suggesting a high-impact collision.
The incident has triggered widespread concern among fans and social media users, many of whom have called for increased attention to mental health challenges faced by online content creators and influencers.
The spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Abimbola Adebisi, confirmed that the command was aware of the incident and stated that further details would be provided after receiving a full report from the Divisional Police Officer in the area. No official update had been issued at the time of publication.
This is not the first time Peller has been involved in a troubling incident during a livestream. In August, he was reportedly taken away by armed men while broadcasting live on TikTok as he made his way home, an episode that also generated widespread public concern.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the latest incident are ongoing.
