…commences pre-enforcement action

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has expressed disapproval of Starlink’s decision to unilaterally raise its subscription rates.

The regulatory agency said that the move by the company violates Sections 108 and 111 of the Nigerian Communications Act (NCA), 2003, as well as Starlink’s Licence Conditions concerning tariffs.

In response, the NCC initiated pre-enforcement action against the company on October 3, 2024.

The information was revealed in a statement issued by Reuben Muoka, the NCC’s Director of Public Affairs.
