Eid-el-Kabir: FG declares Monday 17, Tuesday 18, public holidays

The federal government has declared Monday, June 17, and Tuesday, June 18, as public holidays to celebrate this year’s Eid-ul-Adha (Sallah).
Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior, announced this on Friday, June 14, on behalf of the federal government.
Tunji-Ojo congratulated all Muslims, both at home and abroad, on this occasion.
He urged the Muslim community to embrace the spirit of peace, kindness, and sacrifice exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him) and to use this period to pray for the unity, prosperity, and stability of the country.
In a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Aishetu Ndayako, the Minister assured that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration is committed to protecting the lives and property of all Nigerians.
Wishing the Muslim community a joyful Eid-ul-Adha celebration, the Minister also encouraged all Nigerians to work towards a prosperous future for the next generation.
